Decorate Cookies using Food Decorating Pens

If you have ever looked at nicely decorated cookies with envy and wished you could create something similar at home, we have great news for you. Today we are going to show you a simple method to embellish your cookies by adding a bit of color. This method is mess-free, which means that the kids can get creative as well without turning the kitchen table into total chaos.

For this, you will need:

  • A batch of cookies coated with white royal icing
  • Chefmaster Food Decorating Pens

Before starting the decoration process, make sure that the royal icing on the cookies is completely dry, as we will be using the Chefmaster Food Decorating Pens to write and draw on it.

When you’re ready to start decorating, grab a decorating pen. You will notice that each pen has 2 nibs, one on each side with different thicknesses. The smaller nib is perfect for detailed illustrations or for writing words, while the thicker nib is ideal for when you need to color and fill in larger areas.

Grab the color of your choice, choose the nib best suited for your design, and start drawing on the royal icing just as you would on a paper. In this case we have started with two shades of green to draw some grass and flower stems. We then drew the flower petals using various colors, and finally wrote a message in dark green color to finish off the design.

It is important to remember that once you have added the first color, you should let it dry completely before adding another one, which will help avoid smudging.

It is a very simple process, and with 10 different vibrant colors to choose from, the possibilities for creativity are endless. You can create cookies with names or cute messages on them, themed cookies, festive cookies, or you can go all out and create intricate designs. Let your inner artist shine with the Chefmaster Food Decorating Pens!
